KINGPINS ROUND UP

Another fantastic Kingpins Show in Amsterdam last week. It was great to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones! It’s always a pleasure to install our vintage visualisations in such an interesting spacem and be given the opportunity to discuss vintage denim.

Heartfelt thanks go out to the entire Kingpins Team for their kind invitation and warm hospitality – their efforts make each event a success.

A special shoutout to everyone who attended Doug’s presentation on ‘Tribal Love on the Portobello Road in 1967’ – he’s now hard at work on the next concept for July’s New York show…

Our looks centered on the Summer of Love on Portobello Road, taking inspiration from Jo Gannon’s 1970 movie ‘Getting It Straight in Notting Hill Gate’. It was a vibrant colony of bohemians, misfits, artists and musicians, identified by patched and repaired denim, leather and tie-dye.

Installation and lecture images belong to Kingpins Show and were shot by Team Peter Stigter.
