Student Research Sessions

Once a month, we open our doors to small groups of fashion students to delve into the archive for our Student Research Sessions.

These 2-hour sessions are self-directed and provide a space to gather inspiration and fuel creativity, with up-close and hands-on access to vintage garments, as well as our publications.

These are hosted at our Central London Showroom, which houses an extensive collection of Menswear, Womenswear and Denim.

10 Spaces available, £10 per session.

The sessions are open to FdA, BA and MA fashion students. You will be required to show a student ID.

Please note, there is no photography allowed; students are encouraged to sketch.

University Workshops

At our Central London Showroom, we offer university workshops, tailored to academic projects and briefs, allowing students to explore the contextual history of vintage garments as a class.

For these workshops, we work with tutors to create a hands-on experience in our archive which is bespoke to the course or project brief. Previous workshop themes include ‘The History of the Parka’ and ‘Archetypical Denim through the Years’.

The aim is to provide an immersive workshop where students can be inspired through discussion and discovery, with full access to the extensive archive.

Photography is not permitted in our showroom and we encourage students to sketch the garments and their details. We also offer high-resolution image packs as a downloadable link after the session, ensuring students can take this valuable resource with them even after they leave.
